NYCOA is a leading manufacturer of engineering grade nylon resins. With a product line as broad as that of the industry's largest competitors, NYCOA has established a solid market niche in specialty nylons. In addition to an extensive line of standard and custom nylon 6 grades, NYCOA manufactures numerous specialty nylon grades including plasticized, glass reinforced, and flame retardant grades, as well as the capability to polymerize many unique nylon copolymers, terpolymers and custom nylon alloys.
Sunil Kumar has an extensive background in manufacturing, having previously worked as President and CEO of International Specialty Products, GAF Materials Corporation and in senior executive roles at Bridgestone/Firestone. He is joined by his daughter Monica, who is a graduate of Columbia University in Operations Research, has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and has previously worked at Citi, AIG and PepsiCo. The new owners plan to keep senior management in place at the Company and to expand and grow the product line. The Kumar’s also plan to serve as on-site owners and managers of the business.
Nylon Corporation of America, Inc. (“NYCOA” or the “Company”) of Manchester, New Hampshire, announced that it has been acquired by Wembly Enterprises LLC (“Wembly”), the Franklin Lakes, New Jersey-based family office of Sunil Kumar. This transaction is the successful culmination of an initiative led by Bigelow LLC on behalf of NYCOA and its majority owners, Metapoint Partners, to proactively seek out the Best New Investor for the Company.
